Title: Wheels
Post by: Kerrse on 18 February 2011, 10:43: I'm looking at changing my wheels again due to needing 4 new tyres very soon but torn between buying aftermarket alloys or VW wheels. I don't want to spend a fortune though as i am selling my car at the end of the year I quite like the Scirroco wheels but they are

18"X8.0J

PCD: 5-112

OFFSET: 45

Could you get adapters to make them fit ?

I know the mk 4 is 5 x 100 an offset 35, i wanted to know if you could get adaptors to make the wheels fit. i haven't found any replicas with mk 4 fitment maybe i will keep looking.

You can 100% get reps in 5x100 or run 15mm adaptors but that is an expensive way to go.

They are multi-fit though :undecided: Its about the only set I found :undecided: Majority are 5x112

To be honest I thought there would be hundreds :laugh: :laugh:

I dont like either of them, budget isn't a problem but as i said i am only keeping the car till the end of the year, buying a scirroco in jan/feb.

So there is no point in spending a fortune but i will shortly need 4 new tyres so thought i may as well change the wheels due to my current wheels having a bit of laquer corrosion

I am not selling the car till early next year, i like the wheels that are on there now but they have a little corrosion under the laquer and the black inbetween the spokes has flaked. So as i am due 4 new tyres though why not just replace the wheels as well :grin:

I may have mine on tomorrow but i want to coat them in wheel sealant first so may wait till Wednesday.

Post by: Kerrse on 15 March 2011, 20:04: Wheels are on after a nightmare as i got to the last wheel & my locking wheel nut key broke :shocked: i had to drive home from work with 3 new wheels & one old. Stopped a tyre place on the way home to get the tracking done & they told me the garage next to them could get the nuts out, £20 they removed all 4 locking wheel nuts luckily had a new set. So wheels all fitted will post up some pics tomorrow.

Post by: p11jon on 15 March 2011, 20:13: locking wheel nuts are good for stopping thieves but i hear more stories of them stopping the owners removing wheels.lol. someone needs to invent stronger keys. those three pin ones are the worst. those cades look smart mate cant wait to see how they look. :smiley:
