Hi there, i've been a member here for a while but only ever been reading. But I thought it was about time I posted especially as i've just had another remap on my car.
Basically About 4 months ago I went to see Aptuning in kent for a remap on my mk4 golf 1.8t (AUM), I was well chuffed with the performance after the remap and have since fitted a forge dv, induction kit and silicon turbo intake pipe. And after having a dyno power run I found i was now getting 208bhp. That has been all good UNTIL last saturday! Darren at Aptuning called me up to say he had some new software from Dahlback racing??? and wondered if I wanted to try it out for him and if i liked it, then i would only pay him for the software (cost price). "ok, i'll give it a go" i said. So sunday I went over to him and he did some checks and then uploaded the new software to my car. BLOODY HECK!!! I couldn't believe it, the car felt like it wanted to take off! Apparently it's supposed to give around 230bhp and a whooping 300lb-ft torque. I don't know if this is true but he showed me the figures from the website of this dahlback racing. I've got to go and get it dyno's again now to see if it's true, but the main thing is that the power is certainly up on what it was. So As promised to aptuning i said i'd share my thoughts and give them the thumbs up.
Only thing now is that i've got to go back and pay him for the upgrade now, but it's worth it.
Thanks again Aptuning

Hiya there, I'm glad your enjoying the new map. But then I knew you would! Just shows what can really can be done. Your the second person I've done a dalhback racing map for now, and the reports are all good.
So thanks for the feedback

Yeah, this whole forum and most people on it are actually Vw Golf's that have become self aware
-
300lb/ft of torque out of a what seems to be near standard mk4 golf. Dont even think Dahlback would be that stupid to quote them figures.
-
Just had some work carried out by ShedPerformance, the guy fitted a jet turbo and wow the car nearly takes off now. Over fuels a little and pops and bangs.
-
Hulmie - glad your happy with the work you carried out in your shed. another happy customer
-
LOL
300lbft from a k03s thats major.. I managed to get 290lbft on my old K03s but that was with a 29psi boost spike while messing around on the dyno.

Considering all his posts were in the new members section anyway, it's not really a loss.
Surely he'd generate more business if he'd genuinely taken an interest in the scene that may or may not be paying his wages.
Ps. Nice car Jack3559 everyone knows that the estate handles much better than the hatch and has a better power to weight ratio. Is it true you pulled a 9 second 1/4 mile? :nerd:
-
Yes I did.

haha pure madness

Good feed back should speak for itself.. And genuine feedback is worth more than any paid advert IMHO.
Just this one thread > http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/270216.aspx?PageIndex=5 is worth more to me than paying £20k per year on glossy magazine ads.
On another note: APTuning has a very good name on many BMW forums and has a lot of real feedback.
-
now thats feedback

If you're putting it in glossy magazines you're advertising to the wrong audience....
