Title: Painting the Valances
Post by: bastion on 17 February 2011, 16:20
Can anyone give me some instruction on this?

I have a mk4 gti and want to colour match my valences. I have the paint mixed up ready but I haven't sprayed anything before so I'm a bit clueless!

Are the valances easy to remove? and what type of grit paper should i use to key them?

Is there anybody on here that has done this and can give me some pointers please?

Cheers

Read all of this very carefully before you even think of starting!

I made a few mistakes on my rear valance but Thom helped point me in the right direction on how to do it properly. I made this how to stating what I believe to be the correct process using the lessons I learnt and the advice given on here.

Thanks for all the help.advice you gave while I was doing it mate. My front one came out much better because of all the things I learnt whilst doing the rear. Now I'm more confident in spraying things as I have a much greater understanding for the prep work and how it really helps give you the best possible finish.
