I've just fitted my single headlamp grill, and wanted to fit the body coloured bit off the bottom of the old one, they don't seem to fit together but i've noticed in quite a few peoples pics they still have them. Have they been modified to fit? if so how? or has the bottom of the new grill just been painted?

it depends what sort of sinlge headlamp grill you've got. i think your talking about the thin metal edge that runs along the bottom. most decent aftermarket grills will be made exactly the same as your original one so its just a case of swapping it from one to the other. however, last year at gti international i saw a whole load of cheaper de-badged grills that were not designed to have this metal bit swapped and just had a plastic version moulded in its place. if this is the type you have you'll have to colour code that part of the grill.

think i must have one of the cheap ones.....dont look much different except you aint got the holes to hook that little strip into

yeah a mate got one from inters, does the job and only cost a tenner for that and an eyebrow spoiler! can't argue with that!
