hi, my mk3 gti gearbox recently went and ive now bought a new mk3 gti with wiring problems in the hope of making a good car out the two. Ive decided to use my old gti with the gearbox problems for spares. Is it a big job to switch the ecu and all the wiring loom into my new car ? any help appreciated.

What year are the cars, should be easy enough to sort.

In that case, will be a straight forward swap over, take pics as you go (always help later if you cannot remember where a plug goes) and take you time.

hardest part is unplugging fusebox end, as i think the brake servo has to come off the bulkhead to get the wiring out from behind it? not 100% sure on a mk3 but you do on a mk2 at least.

thanks , ill let you know how i get on

Yup brake servo will have to come out to access the hole in the bulkhead.
