Ello
Ive just stuck set of lights number 5 in the Golf(mk3) they are inpro mk4 look affairs that have been modded etc.

When on dipped beam, just one of the bulbs(outer) on each headlight work, and when on main beam just the inner ones work.
Is there a simple way i can get both to stay on when on main beam?
Im guessing i will have to relay it as it will draw too much power just linking them up?
Is this just a case of running a relay like you would to if you were adding fogs on a normal car, linked up to the headlight main feed?
Cheers me dears.

I would guess you could tweak the wiring but they are set up like that for a reason.
-
Yeah i understand that but i cant see any adverse effects in doing so?I could take a live feed from the main beam, sling it into a relay and then feed the dip beam so it is on when the headlight is on.The lights are bright enough it just looks better with them all on.
The lights came with a relay bridge. It says if your lights were H4 to pull relay 10 out and bridge it with this pin.
As ive never had standard lights in it i cant think if it had H4 bulbs in it to start with so i dont want to go buggering something up by bridging a relay slot.

H4 is usually a lesser model than a GTI/VR6. Dual chamber lights as standard would use H1's.
So it depends what model car you have.

It's a 1.8 driver I can't think if they had dc lights or not?
-
Singles I think. So H4's would have been the standard bulbs.

Aaaaah I see so I might benefit from putting that bridge in relay 10 then. Well I will have a go tomorrow, armed with some fuses ha ha
