Hi Guys
I'm Mark and as my user name suggests I'm a Mini Owner (2 Classics  ) but please don't hold that against me. I also love the new MINI too. But as an everyday car I run a 06 2.0 TDI sport  in Tornado Red which I love its so comfy and effortless to drive before that I had a 54 1.9 TDI SE which was sadly killed last year after a meeting with a lorry
I don't plan on doing much the the golf but do want to get a leather interior for it and at some point fit a detachable towbar!

Welcome to the forum.
Love the green Mini
Thanks The Green Mini is the only car I have ever brought new (and probably the only car I will ever buy new) it costs me £££ but I don't care its a limited edition 1 of 5 converted by a company called Downton in 1999 to celebrate Mini's 40th birthday it has a1.3i engine with 90bhp conversion (yeah I know woo big power!) 5 Speed 'box, sports suspension and 4 pot calipers with vented and grooved discs. I had it painted in classic Almond Green as a special order then the garage sprayed the roof the correct shade of snowberry white foc (well it was the second most expensive Mini they had (and ever did) sell!) spent a load on mods over the years to get it looking like it does everyone thinks its much older then it is due to the styling and private plate. Oh and its driven not trailered last year in the space of 3 weeks I went to Santa Pod, a run into wales with a bunch of New MINI'S and then off down to North Devon for our annual outing on the LGT with 250 other Mini/MINI drivers! The 2 Minis couldn't be much different as the the blue one is a 1000 cc running drums all round and hydrolastic suspension so its a bit basic and not that quick 0-60 eventually but I love them both no traction control, no abs, no power steering, no stability control just me and the Mini

That the Jack Knight 5 speed box? Knew a couple of peeps with Cooper sport 5's but both ended up with 4 speeds due to them going bang.

No I think its the Tranx one I test drove a Sport 5 and actually put my name down for one of the last ones produced but then the Downton Sport Touring came up and it was the same money for the same spec but a bit more exclusive
Thanks for the welcome

Ah right, good thing than. I thnk those JK boxes were made of chocolate!
I used to be well into minis and used to help run www.minifinity.com back in the day. The wife still has a 79 850cc City with only 30K on the clock!

Nice same age as me  My MKII has done 43K and I believe this is genuine, the Downton has done 33K I would love a MK1 Golf and Split Screen Camper but need to win the lottery first lol Do you still do any of the Mini Shows?
-
Not really, did do Cooper day last year. Mrs wants to do a couple this year.

Himley Hall is a good one. Also Stanford Hall if you want to do a run for charity then in my opinion the Legendary Grand Tour of North Devon is the best ever let me know if you want info on that its August Bank Holiday Weekend and is mind blowing there are people lining the streets to watch the Minis go past even in the middle of no where

theres also a Mini/VW show at cornbury park I think that is in Sept
-
I used to do most of them back in the day. THis is my old beast:
