Small pic, but having difficulty uploading
Coming up 219, and on  drive yesterday it was 236, but only comes when I do the MFA reset by holding the button and turning power on, off then on again.
The only things working on the MFA is the clock, oil temp and outside temp.
Anyone know how I can fix it?
Cheers!

Check vacuum pipes are all good. When mine worked,  I got odd readings when a hose had split.   worth a look.

Cheers, will have a look.
Where are the pipes? And where would they be split?
Can't find anything about it in the haynes

Check all the rubber pipes that are usually only a few mm in diameter.  They are connected to places like the vacuum advance on the side of the dizzy and to various places on the intake manifold, one of which ends up going through the bulkhead to the back of your clocks in the dash.  (well that's how it is on the mk1 and I can't imagine it will be much different on the mk2)

All the small pipes (vacuum) in this diagram are for an 8v digi, can't remember what engine you have.

No worries.

Now I jumped on this thread as I presumed it was giving crazy MPG readings, thinking about it though is it only giving you those two numbers after a reset or have you seen any others?

Could be the speed sensor if you're not getting the average speed or distance travelled either

True, there was no mention of that working either.

Yeah, distance is some random 4 digit number, MPH reads 1.0 even on the motorway and MPG dones't work either.
Will check that out too then, as well as the vacuum hoses.

I think its on the back of the clocks... :undecided:

I don't know much about the gubbins of dub clocks, I need to brush up as my MFA is poorly too, mine just tells the time at the moment.

Yep, nothing comes up otherwise.
When I'm travelling and I scroll through the MFA, Only the things I listed work (clock, oil temp, ambient temp) and everything else comes up as a couple of dashes.
Only get a figure on the others when I get the 'secret' menu, and thats insane, hence the 219mpg!
