Post by: DON_GEOVANI on 15 February 2011, 12:46
asked this previously but since iv had my cambelt done 65k ive lost about 5mpg off my average. barely get 50mpg at a struggle now when i use to ease 55mpg on the same journeys...any ideas? i've got no codes on vagcom and the mechanic says everythings fine, is that just the way it is and get on with it.....
(tyre pressures are fine)

dropped to 45mpg now, i asked the mechanic if he dislodged a turbo pipe or something and he did say he re-connected a loose pipe near my headlight, would this now push put a leak further on the system perhaps? iv lost a tiny bit of power not massive amounts

You can but me personally I get someone like RTech to do mine as they find the problem and fix it if they can't they tell you exactly what you need to replace
