if it were mine i'd go for plastic gti arches quad grill and diff wheels(and engine ) but thats me!
it could be a cheeky sleeper with some standard steels on though
-
not really keen on the quad grilles to be honest , but i have got the front gti arches just need the rears ,
-
Looks good, love the colour and as said would make an awesome sleeper, shame the bay wasn't painted.
-
Run a set of g60 steels and it would be a ace sleeper, leave the arches off looks cleaner.
-
i work at a body shop so i think im getting all inside painted and the bay soon ,

Cool... If you're going to be doing a lot of work on this, maybe you should start a dubrides and a project thread so we can see the progress? It's great to see MK1 activity goinf up again on this site.... need some more. :afro:
-
yes :) i did do one but didnt have much interest
-
its funny how anyone in the car refurb/painting trade always go for a mk1(obvisouly because its the best, lets face it )

Which, dub rides or projects? As replies cannot be posted in the projects section... Also it can take a while for some people to bite in dub rides as it's very busy in there but once people are hooked they don't leave you alone!

I'm not a big fan of the wheels either, I think if you get alloys on a mk1 they shouldn't be bigger than 14", but I'm a big fan of the down and out look.

Mine are 15... :lipsrsealed:

I can't recall if I've seen your car, lemme search. That's just my opinion though. I'm sure there are mk1's running bigger wheels that look good, but it's just not the style I like.
-
Just saw your black mk1 Soundillusion and I have to admit it looks amazing, but I think it works because it looks like it just rolled off of the production line.
I still like dropped on it's ass on small diameter wheels though. Hehe
-
15's should be top for a mk1. 15's on low pro tyres
-
No need to search, there's a pic in my sig and so are links. wouldn't go as far as as saying production unless you just mean the look rather than the paint etc
I hear you though, down and out looks great on a mk1, works really well on detrimmed cars. Mine has had it's BBS kit for life hence the wheels and I don't want to change it's looks too much.

Putting my 45's on at the end of the month, or maybe this weekend.

I think the trim goes a long way to making your 15's look at home on your car SoundillusioN. By factory I just meant the style of the car. It's a good look.

yeh i like the 15's team dynamics , i prefer the track look , and most the others wheels available arent the best anyway . i like the bbs but they seem to go for alot of money
