Does anyone know if all the mk6 golf have the security chip in the ecu?
Revo are claiming they can get 180bhp from the 110bhp golf that I pick up next week :D
If they can find 70bhp from somewhere, this will be my first mod! Just need to know about the security chip? Also do all the mk6 tdis have dpfs in them?
-
It's actually a tri core ecu, you have to remove the ecu to do them unless they've made something new that I don't know about.....
You can't do them via the OBD socket
-
Yeah they said that doc, has anyone had a remap yet? Any issues?
-
Is the 110 a 2.0? If so it is probably just a de-tuned 140 unit. This would account for REVOs claim.
-
Yes, there are many people on here that have had remaps here, I'm sure they'll give you their opinions later on
Why not drag it over to our rolling road day in April?

I have Revo Stage 2 on my Mk6 GTI and Stage 1 on our 2.0TDI 140bhp Tiguan, and while it took them a long time to get the stage 2 code perfected on the Mk6 GTI, now it is I love it.
2.0 TDI CR code I have been running on the Tiguan for 5 weeks has been perfect since the start, this was a 2010 locked ECU so needed it removing from the car to the flashed. The Tiguan is a pretty heavy car plus it's 4 wheel drive but in a straight line it's now quicker than a standard Mk6 GTD (much to the surprise of a GTD Driver last week )
I would defo recommend both their petrol and diesel maps
-
Now even though that'd be me in the GTD I'd have to laugh at being outgunned by the sleeper! Love it!
What does the Tiguan achieve power wise now and how has the MPG changed?
-
Yeah, the 110 is de-tuned, according to Revo :)
Doc, I doubt I'll have the map by then, gonna cost nearly £500 due to them having to take the ECU out, how much did everyone else pay if you don't mind me asking? :)
It would be lovely to have 180bhp+ and with an CAI and custom exhaust, I could go stage 2, nearly 200bhp? :)

With such an increase in power, wouldn't other bits require upgrading......gear box, maybe clutch, brakes etc etc....?
-
The ECU isnt hard to remove. BUT EU spec VW ECUS are going to be 1024 bit encrypted so REVO etc will have to "short out" the ECU and then reflash it. US Spec (like mine) is encrypted. nobody can break the code and from what I have heard noone will so they short it out. Every now and then they do screw one up(which is why I sent mine to the US to get flashed).
