Title: Digital display. (mpg, oil temp........?????
Post by: Carlos cabrio on 04 March 2005, 19:43
Hi.
I've just bought a '89' GTI Cab and I don't know how the little switch on the right hand stalk works?
I know that it has something to do with the little digi display, but that's it. Can anyone explain?

Thanx
Carl.

Hi Carl.
When you press the switch on the end of the stalk, the display on the dash cycles through a series of modes, one is the time, average mph, average mpg, instant mpg, outside temp, oil temp and mileage trip. There is probably more, but that is the basics.
Steve.

Do you know what does the little slide type switch do on the stem of the stalk?
I know one resets everything.
Any ideas how to set the time????

Sorry bout all the questions.

there are little buttons on the clear part of the clocks to set the time (similar to the one to set the odometer to 000000 but you need a pen or something to push it as it dont stick out)
the 1 positon is a data for last journey or if the journey is resumed in half an hour. position 2 is data for the last 1000 miles then it resets its self.
