Hi all. From one hassle to another with this car. When bought I was told the drivers door lock had been had a go at. So only been able to het in via the passenger side to unlock it via the central locking.
Gone to lock the door and the key turned and locked it ok then span. The doors were locked and could only get in through the boot. The doors now won't lock.
Pressing the door locks down made the pump whizz up but straight away unlocking it. But it's not doing that now.
Any idea what had snapped in the barrel/ door and how to fix it?
Thanks
Gal

you can get door handles with keys and locks off ebay cheap (less than 15 pounds each). You will probably find the lock paddle has broke. The handles are held in with a single bolt on the edge of the door.

Is there any where that just does the paddles? I'm sure I have seen them somewhere

VW stealership!

yes you can change just the paddles doesn't take to long I used a vid on youtube when I did mine.

Heres the vid I used http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx5pSR-M7uQ
As you can see in the vid he is changing more then just the paddle but theres nothing stopping you from just changing the paddle on its own.
Just make sure you get one that fits your old lock barrel because the newer paddles are thicker and won't fit without changing the whole lot like in the vid.

loads of repair kits on ebay as well
-
As mentioned above, plenty of lock repair kits on eBay for not much money.

Cool
What I may do till I get one is take the one off the drivers side as the barrel is buggered and fit it to the passenger side
Will that work?
Ebay paddle are £4 to £5. just gotta pay and wait
Don't like leaving it unlocked though

make sure you get the right ones as there are at least 2 sizes. Thats why I suggested handles.

yep that'll work, if it was me id delock passenger handle. well, actually id delock both and fit a remote locking kit, which by coincidence is what my mk2 has
