Title: please help radio locked

i have the standard vw stereo with built in sat nav but put a new battery on and tried to recode the stereo and now it reads safe and locked i have the code but cant seem to get to a position to enter it many thanx

first things first mate i take it you have the correct radio code ?? im a mechanic for vw and ive had this happen a few times to me aswell normally you have to leave it for 20-30 minutes and it should just re set itself so you can put the code bak in , have you considered takin it to a vw dealership ??
