Title: dizzy cap

hi guys ive fitted a new dizzy but when i went to put the leads back got them all mixed up i know i stupid lol anyway ive sorted that problem and now the car want kick in what have i done to i tried fitting the old dizzy and no still the same nothing so put all the new stuff back on and still nothing anyone got any ideas please

HT leads in wrong order or not fitted properly...

all fitted properly just doesnt seem to kick in order 1342 for the cap isnt it if its flooded how long do i leave it till i try again :undecided:

Check the rotar arm and the dist cap contacts...

half hour and spray some wd40 over the leads etc...

ill try thay just out of intrest which is the numberone piston on a 16v

If it was running before you changed the dizzy cap it must be something you've done. Methodically trace your steps and ensure you've plugged in everything you unplugged.....

My money is still on the leads being in the wrong order.... :wink:

As a foot note, if it's doing your head in that much, call it a night and go back to it when you've got your faculties back....

Remove a lead and plug, refit plug into lead and rest it against something, got a friend to crank it over and see if you have a spark, don't what ever you do hold onto the lead.

if its flooded be very carefull. petrol will fly out of the spark hole and thats not good with sparks on the rocker cover :grin:
better to leave plugs in and try with a spare plug

certainly will clear out the excess fuel ;)
