Sadly not but it looks to be in fantastic condition and a worth while purchase with all the extra's it comes with.  Have you had a mk1 before, know what to look out for etc?

Check around where the rear axle mounts for rust if it has been standing, can be hard to sort if bad.

I'm sure it will be fine, unless it's a rot box which it doesn't appear to be, you can't go wrong.... get it home, get a project thread on here and get it on the road, enjoy!

Well that was a wasted journey! The car isn't in my opinion as nice as the pictures / price suggests. There has been a fair bit of welding in the past. There is a hole and rot to the nearside sill, offside inner wing rusted into a hole, spare wheel well hole. There is silicon sealer on the top of the quarter panels below the roof rails for some reason. Broken nearside tail light. Rot on the slam panel with evidence of the VIN plate having been relocated for some reason. Passenger side door glass not matching remainer of glass in the car, and interior door handle missing. This is just a few of my observations.

Nice vendor though.  But a wasted journey. I imaged a car at strong money like this should be a lot better..

That's a shame.... I would'nt mind the fact that it had some welding if it was well done as these are old now, however, the way you describe it makes it all sound a bit messy and for something that needs trailoring away it doesn't seem worth it.n  Keep looking, there's still a few good ones about, what's your max budget and what would you like ideally?

I'm just fed up.. my wasted journey cost me in excess of £250 plus a wasted day. Up at 5am and didn't manage to get home until 4am the following day.

I think I will stick with my 964 and mk2 8v

Pretty sure that Mk1 belonged to a mate of mine and he sold it onto a guy from Central Scotland a while back.

Was a poo day for you.... but you obviously don't want a mk1 badly enough if one car is enough to knock the wind out of you.  :undecided:

Its the time issue too, I have a full time job where I work long shifts and also have recently set up http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Car-Accessory-Shop-NI as a part time business. No I'm not desperate for one but the red one appeared to tick all the boxes and I had a free weekend. I have a concours 1989 964 C4 in Guards red with cup wheels and teardrop mirrors. It will do.... just thought the Golf would have been nice.
