Title: HELP! SD card reading issue with RNS 510
Post by: CHB100 on 10 February 2011, 19:10
Hi all, (apologies in advance this message has been posted on every Golf forum across the UK )

I recently purchased a Mk6 GTI with I believe retro fit RNS510 ( No shark fin ) Have a problem with it reading SD cards, have now

tried 3! Latest a new Kingston 2GB with a couple of tracks burned from laptop. Both WMA.

It shows the artist and tracks, although doesn't hold on any individual track merely scans continuously and does NOT play.

I then get a message on screen 'WRONG DATA FORMAT - UNABLE TO READ FILE'

Any ideas/suggestions? Would be much appreciated. CHB. ( Help The Aged )

PS At least I might get my post score up!!! so that I can actually buy something from classifieds

mp3 format and make sure the card is not sdhc...although if it wouldn't except sdhc it would say sd card error.

try putting mp3 format music on the card

Thanks Darren,
Worked a treat with MP3 files. I had an 'old' 01.2008 instruction booklet from the dealer, after I pestered one out of him. Don't know if there are any other differences though? Thanks a million mate. I do love these forums.

According to the manual it should accept WMA but it needs to be unprotected.
