Evening all
If money was no object  in which order would you replace all the bushes on your Golf GTI,
not yet replaced any of them and i am wanting to start working through, keep getting told how much they improve the drive
All advice greatly appreciated as i am new to this area of Bushes
Thanks
Walchy

Can't beat a good bush!!
Personally I would do wishbones and anti-roll bar, then get it 4wheel aligned. Then the front crossmember and maybe the rear axle, although the latter isn't as important as the from end.
-
Couldn t have put it better myself, add 0.5 degree of camber to the front as well as two new Boge turbo front shockers, you will be well amazed how shagged the originals were.
-
Would you use original or poly bushes also??
Thanks
-
Thats for you to decide.
Good poly bushes should be stiffer than a 'standard' bush. So the car feels a little tighter and more stable in turns. The offset is a harsher ride, and more road buzz getting to the cabin (marginally). This may be compounded by any suspension lowering you have.
So if its a track car, poly is probably the way. But for road, its whatever compramise you want.
Bearing in mind that new standard bushes will be miles better than sha**ed old ones anyway, and cheaper than poly.
If I rebushed my car again, I would mix it up... Poly bushes on the steering rack mounts, front sub frame, roll bar and links (all for stiffness and durability) then standard bushes on the wishbones and rear beam (reducing the comfort reduction a bit).
New suspension top mounts would be good at the same time if you have not done them before.
It would be nice to replace them all at once, to notice the differnece!

Morning all
I have been looking at doing the bushes on the old girl for a while now...
How much am i looking at to purchase the bushes (all) and pay for them to be fitted???
Fancy spending some more money on the girl now she has just turned 100k, plus it's her 21st next year so I better start saving
Thanks

When I bought all the bushes as poly items, I got them from venom motorsport. Was the cheapest I could find at the time, thats for the powerflex brand ones, which are the ones to get as far as i know. I think its somewhere over £200 for them all (not quite £300 tho)
Fitting could easily be the same again, depends on many things obviously, like hourly rate and if any bolts need persuaded!

Bespoke Devision on here can sort you out with a full kit for a good price  look in forum discount or such at bottom of forum
-
Also might be worth getting mk3 top mounts and spring plates istead of new mk2 ones.
Much better set up.

OEM rear axle bushes. Must change these 20+ old things!
-
Did these rear bushes last year, along with fitting a powder coated rear axle seen as it all had to come off anyway, sweet as
Love renewing these bits I find it so rewarding....

Flo-flex also sell on ebay and seem to be good quality. GSF also do a full kit on ebay thats quite cheap. I have used both on my golfs and they last well enough despite the fact they are a fraction of the (rip off) price of powerflex bushes. Its worth tapping DH up for info on audi TT wishbone bushes too if your worried about harshness issues as Im sure I remember him harping on about the bountiful joy he got out of using an OEM product rather than an aftermarket one for an overall benefit .

TT are better than standard as its a full bush so firmer but no where near as firm as poly bush

Would never polybush a road car again, it makes the ride far too harsh for my liking.
OEM all the way.
