Title: which driveshafts?
Post by: vwwardy on 03 March 2005, 19:05
Hi,
I am fitting a VR6 engine on mk3 subframe into a mk2 16v, I have the VR6 driveshafts,
will these fit into a mk2 16v hub assembly? or do i need 8v/16v driveshafts?
I intend to keep the 4 stud set up.
Any information would be gratefully appreciated,

Many thanks

IIRC, the VR6 outer cv joint has a different spline so it wont fit into the hub. I think the easiest way to go is to use your 16v drive shafts with the 100mm inner cv joints and change the drive flanges on the VR6 g/box for 02A passat or similar if they are not compatable with the 16v inner joints.
When I converted a MK2, I used the Corrado hubs so I could keep the VR6 shafts. Hope this helps.
