Title: Focus ST is no more!
Post by: quinnii on 09 February 2011, 21:15
Hi, just put a deposit down on a mk6 GTI today!

So long to the thirsty Focus ST3!

Just a quick question, has anybody retrofitted bluetooth to a car that doesn't already have it?

I can only seem to find posts regarding people who have upgraded from the 9W3 to the 9W7 etc

Thanks for any help!

There is a thread in the maintenance section re installing bluetooth: -

Great! Im not a fan of doing things the easy way and paying through the nose for it! would rather have a go myself!

I see the 3C8 is this:

Just a quick question, has anybody retrofitted bluetooth to a car that doesn't already have it?

I retrofitted the Fiscon which is basically a plug and play system.

Here is a boring Youtube vid I made of it working.

There are also a few more of how it automatically connects etc.

If you search on this forum for Fiscon you will find loads of info on the bluetooth unit. Mobridge is another Bluetooth unit.

Look in the maintenance section for a great guide on how to fit the Bluetooth. I've not installed it myself yet but on the list of stuff to do in the next couple of months.

The Focus was a bit of a problem car when it come to retro-ing stuff to it but the Golf is a excellent car to do things with.

When I had my Focus ST I got Ford to retro the auto wipers and lights plus the dimming rear mirror but the good people at Ford did it under warranty
