Title: Rear washer jet blocked

I had a problem with front and rear jets blocked. I cleaned out the washer bottle of gunk and with a little persuasion and a pin got the fronts working fine. The rear one though is still blocked. There doesn't appear to be a leak in the pipe - it was working quite recently. I tried to remove the rear washer jet to give a good clean but I can't see how to remove it. Its behind the lock mechanism - is removing that the only way to get to it?

Check the pipe hasn't come loose somewhere... I had this with my sons Golf and it was the washer pipe inside the boot that was the problem...

I assume you can hear the motor working?

Use a bit of mig wire down the jet. it should find its way in quite deep. If it is a block that is

its a bit of wire from one of these:

used to be really difficult to get in the past but now the berlin wall has come down its much easier...  :grin:

Its welding wire used in mig welders, stiff but thin :)

Or pull the pipe off and blow through with an air line.

First of all check that the pump is working (making a noise) then pull the pipe apart in the engine bay just rear and left of the wash bottle. If fluid comes out when you press the rear wash wipe stalk then look towards the rear of the car. In the boot carefiuly prise of the clips that hold the trim in place over the offside rear mount. Pull the cover to one side and have a look at the pipe connection behind there - incidentally that is where mine had blown in the cold weather. If all is well then remove the cover from the hatch that hides the wiper motor and ease off the rubber pipe. Try the wash wipe again and if fluid appears then it is the jet that is blocked. I have never tried to remove one but it looks a bu@@er.
