Title: Distributer problems

My mk2 8valve cut out today after just replacing a hose and getting it going again :cry:, luckly it was right next to an RAC man fixing someone elses car! :wink: Aparently the 'hall' something he said had gon in teh distributer? Can anyone shed any light on this? Do i need a new distributer or can it be fixed?

you can get replacment hall senders for 16v dizzys but im unsure about the 8v dizzy and the setup for the hall sender
