Hi,
I sometimes get a strong smell of petrol when I'm sat at juctions or traffic lights with the blower on.
It doesn't really smell once i'm up and running. Just wondering if the injectors are playing up (it's a digifant). The thing is i read on another post that changing the injectors can make a difference on performance so I might be changing it if it's bust. :undecided:
How much do you all think it would be to buy new parts??
Thanks

Check the rubber fuel pipes that go onto the fuel rail for leaks, especially when cold.
Steve.

more likely to be a leaky fuel pipe than the injectors i'd say. check umder the car for sighns of leakage.

my brothering law brought his mk2 gti around today and was filling his water bottle up as he was doing so he said there was a smell of petrol i had a quick look for him and the fuel line on the left of the injecters was split i told him to start engine and when i touched the fuelline it sprayed everywhere it is alot easyer to find when youre cars running so try it hope this helps

Check the rubber seal along the scuttle pannel at the top of the engine bay, if this is missing/split it will let engine smells into the fresh air intake :)
