Hi all, i know this may be the wrong area to ask  but i think ill be swapping my Vectra Gsi for a VR6.
The problem is, which should i go for? The Mk3 or a Corrado?
Not sure if the power difference would be enough to warrant getting a coupe over the golf, but having said that im a 6 cylinder lover and do like a bit of power :D
If anyone can shed some light on the differences in the engines it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance, Mike

golf has 174bhp and looks the best i think
corrado one had 190 bhp, but im not a big fan of the shape of them
-
corrado will drive better! but parts are expensive, also a stunning looking car!
the golf is a golf, ya get what ya see!!!
owned both, still cant make my mind up lol
-
LOVE how fat the Raddo is!
They look perfect with some poke!
But i am partial to a 3
-
Corrado ftw....will be worth more than the Golf all day long. Although the Golf's are a nice piece of kit as well
-
but the rado will cost ya more to maintain!!
-
No disrespect to the Corrado and their owners, it's a fine motor but i think you'll always be a bit better off with a Golf variant if you look on a wider perspective, and when it comes down to it you tend to be glad of those general moments when they arise..
My tuppence

I would keep the Vectra.
The Vauxhall engine is a much better package than the VR6.

Sorry but Vauxhall V6 has more power, no cam chain to worry about and is a lot lighter so they do not understeer as much.

lol
only joking mate, fair reason!

So given the choice Wayne you would rather drive round in a V6 vectra instead of a Golf VR or a Corrado VR

Vectra GSI yes not a standard V6 Vectra very different cars to drive, always wanted a GSI estate but too steep on the insurance for the miles I do, I can add that I have driven both and yes I guess you could say the Golf feels more solid to drive but they don't feel quick whilst the Vectra does, it is simple, easy and in a way cheap to get the Vectra up to 220 + bhp to do the same in the Golf will be a lot more expensive also you have the worry of cam chains which are mega bucks to fix, to do the cam belt on the Vectra is around £300 tops.
Corrado VR is a different animal and prices reflect that, good ones are climbing in value but would still pick a G60 or 16V as I think they truly reflect the market that the Corrado was aimed at when it was launched.

I only do 2000 miles a year so for me these days as sad as it seems I don't need anything quicker, it is great for the bikes plus 35mpg and cheap insurance.

Me and my dad went Half wacks on it as we are going to do car booters. Its a 1990 G plate done 41,000 with History.Costs £200 fully comp for the both of us and its really cheap to tax plus very good mpg.I have used it to pick bits up and do regular runs to the local tip just a handy little van. When ive been out in it I have had 2 people ask me if I want to sell it

Cheers for the input guys! Although im more confused than when i started lol!
I do want to keep the vectra but its the look of the dubs that im after! I knoiw the vectra is probably faster (mines running around 210bhp) but its not the same.
And after doing this conversion for the missus and driving the GTI 8v, its safe to say ive been bitten by the bug!
