Right had a look on archenemy and I need to flare them all round, not so much on the front though.
So can you stick the plastic arches back on if they are flared?
If it helps wheels are 16x8 et20 and 16x9 et21 so that will give you a idea on how much the arch need work.
-
Do u mean rolled arch mate? If so i dont see why u cant trim the plastic arch lip and stick them on, sikkaflex is best ive found, its windscreen sealer but dries hard as rock. If u mean flare the arches then it will prob mishape for the plastic trim unless u heat it to shape
-
Dont think you can slap the plastic trim back on if you "Flare" the arches
Although if you find out you only need to roll then you can slap em back on!
By the way the wheels are STUNNING!!
-
If you have them rolled they can be refitted however if you have them pulled / flared they will not refit.
Look better without them.
-
Keep em on! Better!!
-
I think (but might be wrong) that if u flare them then clamp the plastic arch and heat it it in the right places it would work, not sure how it would match up with the door trims etc though. Just a thought mate

Thanks for the replies
Well I looked on archenemy and they had to put on a stubble flare on a mk3 with 16x9 et15 so hopefully I can get away with rolling as I'm 6mm closer in.
And I want cl/gl trim but can't get any  anyone want to sell me theirs?
Or if you find some I'll give you £10 on top of what you get them for.

What you after mate?
Got 5 door coloured GL trim and some CL plastic trim. You after the ends?

That looks sweet! I think I'm going to stick them back on.
And I have a 3dr

Right i have a 5 door MK3 and it has the arch trims on. I've seen some schmidt alloys on rimstyle.
16" x 7.5J. ET 35 all way round.
For these to fit, do i have to roll the arches?

Nope they will fit fine, use 195/45/16 tyres and you will have no issues.
-
As above no issues with that, ET is spot on.

Great thats good to hear. What size were your alloys/offset callum? You had alot of messing about to get them on didn't you?
So another thing to add to the list of getting some new wheels

Mine were 16 x 8j ET25, but I am running 15mm spacers on the front to clear the calipers so are ET10. Rolled front arches flat and cambered in and they fit well with no rubbing. On the rear I just cut the lip of the arch off lol.
You shouldn't need to do anything to yours, especially if you get the right sized tyres. 195/40/16 or 195/45/16 should be good on 7.5j.

But looks a lot nicer with small et number and rolled arches

Hmm True, but i can't be asked with that hassle tbh .

Tweed.. I'm running 16x9 et 15 out back with 2deg camber and I've pulled and rolled my arches as much as possible with out cutting inners. I'm down quite low, running 205/40's with no scrub...
Had a few goes as gone lower so needed to pull arches more etc... Arches are quite put of line to how they was, but the bit your interested in is the arch trims do go back on. Tiger seal and sh!t loads of clamps. Think I used 8-10 on each arch and left to set for 24hrs plus!
That's what I've found best method anyway!
Fronts are 16x7.5 et 17 and just rolled the lip and boshed 1.5deg camber on there. S'all good.
Hope this helps.

Cheers bud but this thread is two years old and mine are flared with plastics on
-
Ahh fair enough. Was looking at it half asleep. Only usually comment on here when I have some concrete evidence to what I'm saying.
Definitely worth it tho. Still looks like a Golf GTi with the plastics on doesnt it!

Yep looks a lot nicer with them on.
