Future plans so far is to get a 4motion front splitter to match the rear then colour code them both, possibly looking at some anni sideskirts aswell. Also gonna see about dewipering the rear
Also in the next couple of months i'm looking to refurb my alloys as theres some scuffing from potholes , but as of yet i'm unsure what colour to go for as i don't want to go for gloss black :undecided:
-
Welcome to the forum
Looks great on those wheels... do you not want to refurb the wheels in OEM colours?
-
Unfortunately i can't afford to get the wheels machine finished again, so looking to refurb my wheels myself which is why i'm looking at respraying them, and i had thought of respraying them in a VAG colour which is why i'm after suggestions and even pics with ideas
-
Nice looking car mate as said I like those wheels on a mk4
-
Very nice , I would leave the wheels as they are.
-
Cheers for the comments, usually the wheels get a mixed opinion, either love em or hate em lol, personally i just think they're a bit different for a mk4. . . .or i did until i started seeing a few mk4s local to me who have gone for the same rims
thats one of the main reasons for thinking of respraying my wheels just to be different as much as it does look good on the polished finish lol
-
looks real good mate!! the wheels suit it.. i have the same.. but mine are going all black :smug:

I was thinking black originally but i think it'll be too much black possibly with the colour of mine :undecided:
-
Leave them with the polished finish to them, Monza's don't look anywhere near as nice once they have been painted.
-
The only problem is the kerbing marks on them that i'd like to get rid of but i can't afford to have them re-polished however good they look

move your gti badge to the right on the grill

Oh yeah, only just clocked that now... does look odd now you mention it.
-
I would do if it wasn't stuck in place
-
I've managed to find the sort of colour that i was possibly looking at going for

good colour choice for the wheels in my opinion. can i ask how big are the spacers on your car? thanks

i'm running 13mm front and 15mm rear if i rememmber rightly

nice looking car mate - im not gonna lie, i hate those rims on a mk4 but they dont look too bad on black, i think the grey colour you posted up would work well with the black paint of the car

I know the wheels are like marmite for some people , even i wasn't sure when i looked at them before buying, but now they're on i think they work well, but the colour i'm looking at would be a bit more subtle and a bit easier to look after than the polished face now.
Does anyone know at all what colour it is at all? I know its the skoda fabia vrs wheel colour, but i'm looking to spray paint them, so i don't know what colour can ask for at my local auto paint shop??
-
Well my 4motion front splitter has now arrived, just need to smooth it off and then colour code it along with my rear one
Also got myself a new boost gauge is i've now got plumbed and wired in. I'll try and get some pics up soon
-
Thought I'd just post up a lil bit of an update
Treated myself to these this week
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y291/FurioKid/01042011080.jpg)
After a quick trial fitting
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y291/FurioKid/02042011081.jpg)
And today i've got them all stripped down ready for refurb. I'm currently waiting on a quote to have the wheels welded and redrilled from 5x120 to 5x100

nice what wheels are they
-
they're 17" BMW BBS RC's
-
Took a roadtrip too hertfordshire today and dropped off my wheel centers with Voodoo motorsport to be redrilled. Apparently gonna take a week or two, but have to have i've been really impressed with their knowledge and how helpful they've been so far

good things come to those who wait.. or so people say... will be worth it, you leaving the BM caps on or changing them?
-
yeah i know i'm no rush for them, want them doing right lol. i'm gonna see about changing the BM center caps, seen some carbon fibre BBS ones on ebay, otherwise may just the BM ones vinyled in carbon fibre, will see once resprayed

You doing them back to their original colour?
-
no unfortunately the having the wheel centers redrilled is costing enough, so refurbing these myself, and the edges of the rims were quite badly curbed, so i've tidied them up with some chemical metal, but these means i can't have the dishes polished as they were, so thinking of respraying the dish and the center two different colours, but now sure what colours to go for yet

not unfortunate.. .sounds like a plan.. maybe a darker centre with an alloy silver on the dishes?
-
yeah thats what i had thought of, and the other day i found a company that do metal flake and candy paints but in aerosol cans, unsure how good they are though, but thinking that may be an option possibly

After looking at the results Dan achieved with graffiti paint (when he was doing his mentally slammed Mk3 VR Estate) I'd give that stuff a thought too. Speaking to a couple of friends, I'm told you can get some really good hard wearing results with it and i'm keeping that in mind for when my time comes to sort my rims out.
I don't have any experience with aerosol flake and candy paints but i'd assume prep is even more important with them as having to flatten the finish too much afterwords could upset the final look.
-
i like them wheels, how come you didnt just grind as much curbing out as possible, that way u could have them polished up on the lips.

Yeah i was thinking that myself, so still undecided as to what colours to go for. I've spent today painting all my calipers up in yellow to match the colour coding under the bonnet. I had thought about doing the middle of the wheels in yellow but now sure if it'd be too much with the calipers??

well a few of the wheels had quite deep curb marks so to grind them all out would've meant taking quite alot out, so the easiest option was too use some chemical metal and rebuild it, which they've come up quite well, not perfect yet, still need a bit of sanding yet

Were your 18" Monza's replicas or genuine? I've got some genuines so they're 5x112 so need adapters which are also spacers but the minimum I can get is 15mm.. Not sure if this is too much?? Also, what size tyre did you put on them??

They're not genuine mate, so mine are 5x100, and running 225/40 R18's mate

I know its been a while, but finally got my new wheels on and also got my splitters colour coded and on finally
