right i think the calipers i have a re 288's so would it still be able to use these with 280 disks? and it all work?
-
No
-
why not? as far as i can see the disk will just not go all the way to the edge of the pads
-
Therefore reducing contact area and braking efficiency for starters. Plus the fact if the pad is over hanging the edge of the disc due to been undersized it isn't going to take long before the edge of the discs starts cutting into and ridging the pads badly.
-
which again wont make any difference what so ever and it wouldnt of reduced the pad contact area as it is an 8mm oversized pad so would still fit the same as a 280
-
No they will not fit or work from the threads I have read.

Be gentle with him!
He hates us anyway - he's been calling us very bad names on E38!

Ditto, I wouldn't "try" brakes. I wouldn't want them to "maybe" fail.

I might be a complete tightarse but I'd always get the right thing rather then using something not quite right but second hand.
Too big pads, gonna wear the discs down a but odd, heat dispersion not great kinda thing.
