would CL mirrors be motorized and heated and such?? I'm doing mine black as soon as I can be assed. haha

Ive got standard cl mirrors on mine I prefer them black instead of the usual red ones.All I did was change the actual covers instaed of messing around removing the whole mirrors they just clip off the covers.
Not the greatest picture and I havent blacked them up as yet.

I'd not even considered changing just the covers. Now I feel a little silly as it seems the most obvious choice.
Do you have to take the mirrors off the cars to do this, or do they clip off?
And you're right, they look much better. Well, I think so at least.

Yep mine were however I believe they did also make manual versions.

Its not easy to be honest and there is a chance you could break the inner clips but there is 4 of them inside the cover.What I first did was just turn the mirror inwards towards the window which if you then look where the mirror actually turns you will see one of the clips you need to do when the cover comes away.I then just wedged my old bank card in the gap between the mirror and the cover to loosen the cover up etc and just felt around where it feels best to start pulling from.Once you found a spot to start pulling it away get your fingers in behind it at this point your fingers hurt lol and you think your covers gonna snap to bits but it does just pop once one pops you kinda just feel where its gonna go next.I just went for it but there is a chance you can break stuff I do know 2 other ppl who done it and had no problems apart from the odd clip breaking but if your not to keen then just swap the whole mirror wouldnt want you breaking stuff on my say so :grin:

Its only the same as if you de-arche a Gti and fit CL trim its all on the persons taste I just think mine goes very well with the black roof and trim when mines all clean and black trims blacked up they will look really nice but hey everyones different :wink:
