Title: flasher unit

I've got a problem with the flasher unit in my 8v mk3 gti.  the fault was intermitant but has since become constant.  the switch at first was buzzing and making a horrid sound, so i changed it since then the switch constantly clicks, the indicators and hazards all work ok its just annoying any ideas what i can do i've taken the steering colum apart and put it all back after a clean buty no joy.  also the factory fitted alarm is a bit of a bugger to set could the problems be linked?

Take it to an alarm specialist, they should be able to help.

What switch are you talking about?

If its the indicator switch then it needs looking at and is probably knackered, I suspect you mean the relay is buzzing which means it isnt throwing properly, this could be down to it being faulty, a problem in the circuit or even a bad earth.

The relay will click on and off and some are louder than others
