Title: Hello from Northamptonshire

I've just discovered this site so I registered today.
Bought a 1988 Mk2 GTi with a seized engine over a year ago. Done loads of work on rebuilding the engine and reconditioning the gearbox but it's now up and running.
Car is completely unmodified, still with original BBS wheels and I'm trying to keep it that way.
I have what I'm told is a common fault with the oil pressure light, flashes when engine running and stays off when engine stopped (ignition turned on). I've been told just to cut one of the wires but, in trying to keep the car unmodified, I'd rather fix it.
Can anyone give me any clues please?
