1. if this is supposed to be connected to anything? (black cable with red sections going around suspension)

1. follow it back to where it goes, but it doesnt look factory to me
2. flywheel/ignition timing inspection hole. probably dont need to touch this, but it depends on the engine code

i tried following it back. just disappeared under some trim. didnt want to remove it from past experiences with brittle plastic  :angry:

Wiring looks aftermarket so maybe a amp in the past.

If it worries you, try a test light and see it it has power.

The red silicon sleeve on the end is to terminate it and ensure it doesnt short itself on anything. If its for an aftermarket alarm for example, this could be for future add ons like full closure etc. Its just part of the loom but not in use at the original state. It shouldnt be live at the other end, but if the other end was connected to power, the sleeve ensures it doesnt earth itself, and blow anything except you when you remove it without removing the battery!

wouldn't have been an amp, i bought the car off of the oldest man, hah.
mentioning an alarm, my alarm has stopped working maybe something was connected to it and i snapped it while under the bonnet one day :undecided:
