Title: Starting problems
Post by: PhoenixPhil on 01 February 2011, 11:20
Hi There,
I have a golf 1.9 tdi (MK4), T reg (174000 miles) which doesn't start very well in cold weather. By cold weather i mean +2c or +3c to -5c. (stands out on the drive)
I wait till the glow plug light goes out and then turn the engine and it will fire once but wont run. so i have to do the same again, 5 or 6 times then it will evenually start. Sometimes i can keep the starter going with engine just about going untill it runs properly. When it's warmer say 10 to 12c it starts alot easier but still not as good as i would expect it to. Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks
Phil
