Still trying to get to the bottom of my golf stuttering when pressing the pedal lightly around 2000rpm. after reading someones post they changed the fuel reg and cured there problem. can anyone tell me where to find it, pic if poss would be most greatful.

Isnt the regulator inside the fuel pump?

Depends on engine but I believe it is on the end of the fuel rail

on the 2l 8v AGG at least its on the end of the fuel rail. Suspect that same for the GTI's and VR6's.
Easy to change - but expensive from VW - £60 ish. Worth checking the hose to the throttle-body is OK first.

put a drop of machine oil down the vac port on it, been known to fix a sticky fpr. certainly cant hurt and free to try
