Can anyone link me to a guide or some such for yanking the immobilser from my GIT?

guides for that arn't possible as you never know what the bodgeing thingys that fitted it did. 

find the sh!t looking wires, unmake the sh!t joints,  join the cut wires back up

Pretty much what I've done. Seem to be three or four wires adrift still though.
