Wanting to change the pads and discs on the GTi but am trying to work out if its worth buying all the tools againt the cost of a garage doing it. Reason is ask is that I can't see me needing the change the discs and pads again in my ownership of the car.
I've seen this guide http://www.golfmkv.net/blog/archives/5# - has anyone used it?

all pretty standard kit, are you doing to own another car after after GTI, as all that stuff works on other cars!

Thanks - Lol I know what you mean but next car will hopefully be a Cayman S and with their warranty conditons, you're not allowed to fart in the car unless Porche say so. But still useful for future use as you say!

Will definitely be worthwhile doing this yourself and buying the few tools that you will need. Main dealer wanted something like £500.00+ to change my discs and pads all round. I just bought all the parts for about £170.00 and done it myself. That looks a good guide by the way follow that and you will be sorted.
