Title: Mk3 wiring issue
Post by: nikkiy9 on 30 January 2011, 22:23
hey guys, i've bought a wiring loom for fitting front fogs to my golf, when i've installed the wiring loom the indicators don't work, yet when i fit the old loom again they still work fine,

has anyone else came across this issue? if so how did you get past this?? i'm considering bypassing the twist connector, would this be worth trying?

compare the 2 looms side by side, see if anything is different about the pinout.  once fitted check the brown wires to the indicators have continuity to ground as well

the only difference between the 2 plugs is the 1 extra wire which will be the feed to the front fogs, just checked again and the horn doesnt work with the new loom either,

Might be worth connecting the loom to the lights and bridging across the pins in the plugs (with a paperclip and some crocodile clips maybe?) when the indicators are on, see if anything happens?

sounds like there is a fault in he new loom somewhere, are you fully spinning the locking ring home? it can be an utter sod to get it to clip all the way in
