Title: Servicing
Post by: Snooze on 30 January 2011, 17:01
My car was on the Long life service plan until I bought it in March 2010, when they changed it to Time and distance.  The garage serviced, fitted a new cambelt and regassed the air con before I bought it.

It will be due a service this coming March and I wondered if someone could tell me whether it will need a major or a minor one?  The car has recently hit the 58k mark.  Thanks

Depends on what was done at the last service really as the long life servicing can confuse matters. VW recommend a brake fluid change every 2 years.
I'd advise you to still use longlife oil though, even on T&D. Better quality stuff, especially if your car is modified.

Wont be taking back to the VW garage, they cost an arm and a leg.  Think they may get a call though asking what type of service is needed!
