Title: Temp senders?

Is there any way of knowing what colour temp sender you have with out taking it out? Went to get a new one today from vw but they wanted to know what colour i needed doh! when i had the bonnet up earlier i looked in the area of the temp sender and there was what looked like the temp sendor, but had a green ring around the top just under the brass coloured tip, am i right in thinking i will need the green temp sender?

its the colour of the connector. Unplug the wire and see what colour the plastic is green or grey i think?

ok will do, they had the dark gray in stock as they said that seems to be the most common colour. Shame vw never used the same colour for each engine code!
