Title: Front brake question
Post by: walchy01 on 28 January 2011, 17:26
Really sorry for not knowing parts name I need but here goes....

Took my front offside wheel off to look at my brake hose... The disc u see first that ur 4 bolts go through to hold ur wheel on..... I noticed there was a fifth smaller hole with nothing in it that looks to me should have a flat screw in it to hold the disc still when braking??? If the screw is missing am I still okay driving it???
Sorry for the vague info

Any help would be really greatly appreciated...

yes its fine. it just keeps the disc square when you remove the wheel

You're lucky they are usually rusted and threaded to bits making a simple disc change a pain
The wheel bolts make sure it doesn't move about, so like eveyone said no problems

Not needed really but makes fitting the wheel back on easier as it saves the disc moving.
