Hi Folks,
Picked up my GTI last week as a replacment for the A5 and promised myself I wouldn't get sucked into spending any money modding it as the weekend car (Scoob) tends to take care of any spare cash all by itself , but after a few days spent on the forum I have purchased an RCD510 from Branchespark (thanks again) to replace the RCD310 (looks horrible and terrible to use with ipod playlists).
I'm aware there is a bit of coding to do when I'm getting it fitted and a friend will be doing this for me. The GTI has the armrest mdi fitted which I assume is a simple plug into the new unit.
My main query is that I have the VW Touch bluetooth kit fitted as it already came on the car (fitted by VW). Is this likely to cause any issues when replacing the 310 with the 510 as I'm not sure how these aftermarket kits are connected into the headunit or will it be wired into the existing CAN connector and therefore nothing to worry about?
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
PS I'm absolutely loving the GTI and the fuel ecomony is amazing compared to my old ED30 and diesel A5.

Hello and welcome to the forum, nice pics BTW
Imho Your VW accessory phone (bury) should work fine with the new set as it just plugs inline.

Thanks Doc.
Pics are crap though. I'm no photographer and neither car had been cleaned as I'd just picked up the GTI. Hopefully will get some better pics of both soon.

So much better than my non existant pics
