Title: Machine polishing
Post by: Ant1981 on 25 January 2011, 18:21
What is the actual difference between a machine polisher and an angle grinder with a polish pad fitted to it? Is there any difference that would affect the polish?

about 4000rpm.......i think LOL

the machine polisher has a variable speed control for polishing....the angle grinder will be 10000rpm and prob burn the paint work red raw.

correct^

the rotorys we use for cars have variable speed motors so you can control it whilst on th paint, slow speeds for spreading and working the polishes and higher speeds to finish off,

as said above an angle grinder will go through your paint in seconds because the heat would build up too quickly thus burning the paint/clearcote.

get a proper machine.
