Hi all, I have recently bought an aftermarket mk4 style flip keyfob. I have only just realised though, that it will have to be coded to the immobiliser. I also have an aftermarket central locking kit which I fitted just last week. My question is; can I just get the chip like is in the existing key and add it to the fob? Not sure how it all works! Cheers!

you can try removing the transponder from an old key and glue it to the new one (but be careful as they break easy!)

yeah as above, i assume you bought the rclick kit yes? if so it has a nice little hole for the chip, just pop it out the old key and put it in the rclick fob. use some double sided tape or a blob o glue to keep it in place. oh, and note the orientation it came out your key, put it back the same way. i dont think it really matters but the mk3 chip has 1 corner missing so it will only fit 1 way in the mk3 key

ok thanks, better be really careful then cos I only have 1 transponder key!
