overheating and lack of hot air from the matrix usually, check the cooling system as per:

they rumbel and leack,  then you overheat

OE ones have a plastic impeller.  The blades wear and can snap.  This produces a grinding noise from the pump if the baring goes and the blades rub the casing (as mine did).  New pumps have metal impellers.

Check for noise and leaks.  Cheap part from GSF and easy to fit.
