Title: tools question
Post by: javalin on 23 January 2011, 14:27
Hello!

Any idea's for removing a awkwardly placed exhaust bolt (non VW)?  Its on the end of the cat/manifold pipe and its hard to get to.  Tried crows-feet and not much access from underneath the car. I can get a standard socket on it, but not strong enough to move the bold.  Tried a breaker bar but its too long for the space.

something like a crows-foot extension by an inch or two would do it I think.

Only things I've come up with ATM are a wobble entension and/or a longer socket.

Cheers,

James

Pump pliers......they worked a treat on my neibours 4motion mk4 golf....He had been out there for 2 hours trying to get a socket on it.....I used a cold chiesel to crack it of then the pump pliers to unwind the nut...
Job done in 15 mins...
