Title: Exhaust emission warning lamp on, can i still drive it?
Post by: monkey74 on 23 January 2011, 11:14
Just bought a 2004 1.6 fsi se golf, had it a couple of days and last night when i started the car up the exhaust emission warning light came on and has stayed on since.  I have read some of the posts on here and as soon as i get the opportunity i am going to take it to the garage to get it checked, in the meantime is it ok to drive?  The performance has not changed and the light is not flashing for ref.

Any advice much appreciated.

Cheers
Tom

did with mine and had no issues, got it to the garage and it turned out to be a loose air intake hose...

Impossible to say really, all depends on what the fault is.

You need to get it looked at sooner rather than later. Could be a whole host of things.

Cheers for feedback, got it booked in with VW on Friday for diagnostics and general health check, only thing is got up this morning and bulb warning light on, checked and it was front side light, then on way home tonight both warning lights went out and bulb is working again????

Strange!
