ive only ever had the right hand one working on both mk2s ive had, thats all you need for MOT anyway

Only the right hand one should work - cars with no high third brake light should only have one rear fog on the offside

The cars originally came with wiring for a fog light on both sides, but r/h drive cars had a blanking tab over the bulb holder on the left hand side, and vice versa for l/h drive.
Many people broke the tab off and fitted a bulb in the other side to give then 2 rear fogs.
I'm on the look out for a Hella half smoked n/s rear with the tab intact if anyone knows to one.

Thank you guys

nope wiring isnt there either, but its easy to add if you want it

It was in my mates 89 Driver that he had from new, and it is also in my 1990 GTI that had one previous owner who would not have modded it.

my 89 driver didnt have it, my 90spec gti doesnt have it, and neither do the 2 mk2 golf entire interior looms i have boxed up in my garage...
