help needed there is no room in there to get at it golf gti mk2 8v
-
Are you referring to the one on the bottom of the rad?
-
on mine its seems to be more in the middle mines the 3 pin
-
I'm sure I got mine off easily enough if I'm thinking about the right thing. You tried going underneath the car?
-
take the rad fan shroud off and move it across, its only held on with 4 bolts
-
sorted thats now done next leak on the flange best way to seal this
soory to be a pain
-
buy a new one, no point messign about as they;'re dirt cheap. i would replace both cos if one is leaking the other wont be far behind. i use AVS ones no bother in the past but vw ones arnt that expensive. just i can order avs with a few clicks of the mouse :)

i can also recommend AVS..
-
is that for the flange thats on the side of the engine passenger side cant seem to find them at avs
-
sorry i meant to say, for the flanges you need to look in the corrado section as mk2 section doesnt have them for some reason!
looks like they only do the side flange, the front ones are 16v, G60 and 2.0 8v only. GSF do the front one though as well as the side one

that great help mate thanks one more thing do you no if they come with a seal or best way to seal them and would this slight leek stop the pressure building up as pipes can be squose when car is running
-
they come with the seal on :)
i woudl say theres a good chance it'll dure the problem, all of my mk2s have leaked from here./ once the old one is off clean the mating surface so it gives a good seal. if its realy pitted some chemical metal or similar can be used to smooth it off if need be
