Title: Problems trying to fit new auxiliary V-belt on 2.0 GTI
Post by: lozza07 on 22 January 2011, 14:47
Help any one!

I'm trying to fit a new auxiliary V- belt on my Golf GTI engine code AGG.

Haynes manual tells me to slacken the power steering pump mounting bolts, but there are no pictures to show me where they are, or how many bolts.. Clutchin at straws right now.

Can anyone tell me where they are please?  Pictures or any tips would be very useful.

Many thanks

Laurie.

Have a thorough read of this..it's about a thermostat/coolant change but shows you the PS pump and bolt locations.

Keep a check on the maintenance & info sections for further or other help and make a mental note of Dan Reed

Go for it..
And again take a few minutes to read the whole thing through, there's lots of little tips and info on the system and it's related auxilliary components that'll help in the future.. it did with me.

Did it.  Power steering pump a bit stiff but got it in the end.  Car seems to be driving ok.  Going up to Aberdeen on Friday, and then back down to Portsmouth a week later so hopefully all will be ok.

Christo-  Thanks for your help mate. My GTI looks similar to yours.  I have a red 3 door 8v, on a P plate.

Cheers.
