Title: Location of VAG COM Port?

Hi guys can someone tell me where to find the port please? I am hoping to get the central electronic module scanned today to see if I can fit rear LED's today  :evil:

Just under the dashboard on the right hand side of the drivers side footwell above the bonnet pull, just in front of the footwell light.(which is handy)

Thanks gents, got a WSC number I hope this is the electronics module number it's a five digit number.


Anyone know if I have the right number?

Oh dear in that case my mate doesnt have the right device, it's a device he uses for all the cars he works on.  Any suggestions? Do you think the VW dealer will tell me?

Do you know the age of your car? When it was built? As theres a couple of guys on here will more or less be able to tell you yes/no.

It maybe enough to say when it was first registered by the registration document.
SteveP or Montygt140 maybe able to help you if its compatiable with LEDs.

Thank mate, spoke to Steve a while back and he wanted the electronic module number to be sure before trying to fit the lights for me.

My GTI is an early one so I have a bad feeling I won't be able to fit LED's  :cry:

There is always the option of a new module but thats going to cost you £249 extra.  :sad:

Sorry but the details in the PM aren't enough, as your only in Berkshire I will try to get out your way one night this week if your around  :smiley:

PS - I now have a LED Rear and standard front Xenon suitable BCM available for sale (as I have just upgraded mine).

If you look at the 10th digit of the VIN number that will tell you the year it was made.  :wink:
