Help please......Does anyone know the part no for the MK6 LED adapter wiring looms???
Thanks
Martin

VW dont make them, only third party sellers, so it is the guys on here or ebay.
Or SteveP listed all the part numbers you need to make them yourself HERE (http://www.mk6golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,81.0.html)

I was sure this had just been asked the other day. One of the reply linked to some from german ebay and SteveP said that the dealers don't have a part number for the complete harness.
The parts Steve lists worked out more expensive than the ones from German ebay.

^ Thanks guys.... Zee Gernan ebay iit is then

Will do. I emailed a few diiferent VW dealers for prices on the LED lights (Golf R smoked ones) yesterday. The cheapest came in at £340 inc VAT and the most expensive prices quoted came in at £530 inc VAT!!
The lights are in warehouse stock and can be delivered by 3pm next day!
I'm going to order them up hopefully next week.

Have you asked SteveP for a price as he must have a good discount level with TPS by now.
EDIT to answer my own question :embarassed:
New retail price (with the VAT increase) will be £481 for the lights and £56 for the adapter parts.
So GB price will probably be around £455-460 now
Is it not cheaper to buy the adaptors from Germany or are they different

Martin, As per the PM I have sent you, I would get the dealer to check the cheapest price you have been quoted as they are the list price for standard Non LED lights.

Yep a total F-Up.... the dealer quoted the wrong price for the lights at £340. They cheapest price for the lights then straight from a dealer is £500 for the record.
Also been told VW are about to put there prices up by 5% on spares.
-
Martin: Just buy them through Steve. You'll have no problems or continuous hassles. Parts Depts at VW dealers are pretty clueless at the best of times.
-
I got mine for £370 including VAT from my local VW garage then the adapters were £20 from German Ebay. This was last year but could they have gone up that much since then?

Here is from my dealer:
Lights
1x 5K0 945 093 Q (Inner Light) £98.09 each
1x 5K0 945 094 Q (Inner Light) £98.09 each
1x 5K0 945 095 L (Outer Light) £102.22 each
1x 5K0 945 096 L (Outer Light) £102.22 each
Connector parts
4x 7N0 972 703 £0.69 each
4x 191 972 713 £2.39 each
6x 000 979 150 £2.41 each
6x 000 979 129 £1.71 each
I am assuming the prices are inclusive of VAT, as I was actually charged only £333.333 +VAT as I was getting a used GTD from them! ;)
Hope that helps.

Thanks branchespark. I went to 4 different local dealers and the prices for the lights ranged from £500-530 approx. VW will also be putting the spares up by 5% in the cvery near future.

Try Newbolds in Mansfield. They did well.
-
Think Myself and maw came to a deal.
I think the couple of people who have had dealings with me from this forum would give me the thumbs up as a nice guy.

lol 30mins from mine. Products are prolly fine but service wise stay away.
-
@jdjd: Thanks for the heads up. They take eons to answer emails, which is exceedingly frustrating! I live miles away, so won't be any need to go back.

Could somebody far more knowledgable than me confim whether the tailight connectors advertised below would be suitable?
http://www.bks-tuning.com/epages/17141421.sf/en_US/?ViewObjectID=21965684&Currency=EUR (http://www.bks-tuning.com/epages/17141421.sf/en_US/?ViewObjectID=21965684&Currency=EUR)
They also have an LED tailight coding dongle advertised... haven't heard of this being mentioned before
-
Those look right.
The coding dongle is a bit of kit that you connect in to the car and all is does is code the same thing as if you did it manually with VCDS. It has only one purpose and only one use. Once coded, you can remove it.
-
Good stuff, they do look the same. Oh right got, like a USB key that downloads the required data to the car... has anybody used one? Having read about the issues people were having coding the lights manually with VCDS I'm suprised I haven't come across this solution before, which on the face of it seems very simple (at a price)...?
-
This is the sort of thing - http://goo.gl/3tV5M - available from Kufatec.
Shame they don't offer a refund of €20 if you send it back to them, undamaged, as I hate waste!
-
So no issues with RHD/LHD etc they're just the same? Assume Euro cars have a foglight unlike the US version :S Although according to the Kufatec ones they aren't suitable for RHD... grrr!
-
damm i didnt buy r back lights as i was told these wouldnt work, now i know i can get these ill be ordering!
